FRV – Livelihood Restoration Plan (LRP)
SEEDS implemented livelihood restoration activities for solar-project-affected families in Veligallu and Thumukunta — four components spanning livestock, micro-enterprise, digital skills and solar maintenance training.
About the Project
SEEDS implemented livelihood restoration and community development activities under the Livelihood Restoration Plan (LRP) with support from Fotowatio Renewable Ventures (FRV), Spain, for communities affected by the solar power projects in the project area. The programme focused on improving the skills, employability, education and livelihood opportunities of children, youth, women and families from Project Affected Families (PAFs).
Key Components
Four connected interventions delivered together as one FRV-LRP programme in Veligallu and Thumukunta:
Sheep Rearing & Livelihood Support
Sheep and livestock support was provided to 23 identified beneficiaries across Veligallu and Thumukunta to strengthen household livelihood opportunities. SEEDS conducts regular follow-up on sheep health, insurance and ear-tag support in coordination with local veterinary and animal husbandry officials.
Vegetable/Fruit Vending
18 beneficiaries across Veligallu, Thumukunta and Prakash Nagar Colony received vegetable/fruit vending carts along with ₹20,000 working capital support per beneficiary, with ongoing business guidance and insurance follow-up for the carts.
Basic Computer Education & Digital Skills
A Basic Computer Training Centre was established at Veligallu with 6 computers, 2 printers, a power backup system, CCTV and related infrastructure. 65 beneficiaries completed the two documented training batches (25 in the first batch, 40 in the second, each conducted over six months). Several trainees went on to find employment, while others continued their academic studies.
Solar Panel Maintenance Skill Training
Solar Panel Maintenance Skill Training was documented as provided to 50 trainees associated with the solar plants at Thumukunta and Veligallu over the course of the programme, with technical and training support from IndiGrid Solar Company, to improve renewable-energy-sector employability and sustainable livelihood prospects.
